What is a Certified Translation?
The definition of a Certified Translation varies from country to country. In general, a certified translation is a translation that is accompanied by a signed statement that the translator is competent in the source and target languages and that the translation is an exact translation of the source document.
Will my translation be notarized?
Yes. All translations will be both Certified and Notarized. However, please keep in mind that many agencies (including USCIS) no longer require notarized certifications. However, Language Fish does offer notarized translations at no additional charge.
How does the process work?
When you place your order, you will be prompted to upload your document to your own password-protected secure client portal. Your document will then be assigned to one of our specialized linguists for initial review and then translation. Once your translation is complete, we will email you a draft for your review/approval. This will give you an opportunity to provide any feedback (if applicable) to the translator for his/her consideration.
Upon draft approval, your certified translation will be available for download from your client portal. If applicable, two original copies of your translated document will be mailed to you. You may monitor the progress of your translation by logging into your portal for real-time updates.
How long does the process take?
Most small orders are completed within 1-2 business days. This depends on the size of the project, the source language and the requested deadline. You will be notified by email as soon as your order is complete and ready for download. You may login to your secure account dashboard at any time to view real time status updates of your translation.
Do you provide same day service?
We realize that in some situations you will need your completed translations in an expedited manner. Please contact us to inquire about same-day or expedited service for your particular situation.
How can I be sure that the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) will accept my translated document?
We offer a 100% guarantee that your translated document will be accepted by the USCIS. We use certified and qualified native-speaking translators who are experienced in translating documents for U.S. immigration purposes.
What languages do you translate from?
Our translators work in more than 140 languages. Feel free to contact us directly if your language is not listed or if you have any questions regarding a particular language (dialects, colloquialisms etc.)
Can I get status reports on my translations?
Yes. Status updates are available via your secure client portal. You will also be notified by email when your document is ready.
What if I need changes to my translation?
We do our best to provide you with the most accurate translation possible. However, if you have any concerns or questions regarding your final translation, we are more than happy to have our translators review your comments at no additional charge.
Will I receive an original translation of my document by mail?
Yes, for clients that select a shipping option, all orders will include shipment of two (2) original certified translations. We offer both USPS Priority Mail and FedEx services. We also offer international shipping options via FedEx. However, most agencies do not require hard copies, so the majority of our clients select the Digital Only delivery option during checkout.
Can you provide me with an electronic version of my translated document?
Yes, all orders include a high resolution PDF of the certified translation. You will be notified by email as soon as your translated document has been uploaded to your secure client portal on our website.
How can I be sure you are using the best translators?
We use only the most qualified native-speaking translators in the industry. As corporate members of the American Translators Association (ATA), the world's leading professional association in the field, we almost exclusively use ATA certified translators. Our translators have years of experience with all types of translation projects, especially with government and immigration documents. Our extensive network of professional translators offer certified document translation services in over 140 languages.
Can I be sure my documents will remain confidential?
Absolutely! Your documents will remain completely confidential throughout the translation process. Only your project manager and translator will have access to your document(s). All documents will be delivered back to you via the secure client portal.
I would prefer to mail or fax my original document. Is that OK?
Yes of course. In order to provide you with the quickest, most efficient, service we prefer that you upload your document to our website. However, if you prefer to send your document via mail or fax, please see our Contact Us page for details.
Do I need to send the original copy of my documents?
No. In fact, you should keep the original. We only ask you to provide us with a clean and legible copy of the original. Please do not send us original documents! We are not responsible if originals are lost in the mail.
